Help needed regarding redirection

Hello

Please advise me the best way to redirect a domain name. Domain is running since more than 1 year. I just need to maintain my page rank, my backlinks, my positions (SERPs).

I haven't used 301 permanent redirection before, please send me the way to implementing it on both windows and linux based servers.

This is a great question for Google since I don't know the versions of the servers you're running.

If your site has Webmaster Tools, you can also specify a change of address in there.
