Lightbulb PAS v3 API Beta Release [UPDATED]

We are very happy to announce that the first release of the PAS v3 API is now ready to enter a public beta period! This long awaited refresh to the API is here and we think that you're going to be quite pleased with the massive improvements & feature additions that have been made. You'll find the new API to be more powerful, standardized, and much easier to use - all of which should make for a substantially more enjoyable experience when working with our systems via a remote website or integration!

What is the status of the v3 API?
We have done substantial internal testing and we believe that it is ready for production use. It is possible that there could potentially be a few more bugs lurking around, but at this point we are confident that it is ready for production use. Internally we have already begun implementing it into several production environments and thus far we've had no problems. Should you encounter any issues or have any questions/suggestions please let us know!

What can I do with the v3 API?
A whole lot is possible with the new API - we have provided the tools for you to be able to do things like...
    • Forum Integrations: Allow your users to have a single username & password
    • User Integrations: Setup your own user login system or subscription-based website or service
    • Use Your own Server: No longer be required to use our CMS or web hosting
    • Add Signup Forms to ANY website or application that you control
The possibilities are really endless; the open structure of our API gives you the ability and control to have a truly customized implementation that suits your needs.

Where is the v3 API Documentation located?
The final documentation will be located within our main v3 Documentation although right now the best resource for usage of the v3 API-related functionality can be found within this thread: PAS v3 API Usage Overview

Due to this being a 'beta' release we have not quite had enough time to get everything documented and put online. Our goal is to have all of the current v3 API features (those being released today) documented by the end of next week. We'll continue to post updates here and as always we're more than willing to assist with any questions you may have related to the API and it's functionality.

    How do I use it?
The PAS v3 API is based upon a very structured 'RESTful' approach which makes using it fairly straightforward if you have a bit of programming or technical experience. We have also created and released a PHP API Wrapper class (also in 'beta') which is designed to make interacting with API even easier; we encourage you to check it out, it's one of the easiest ways to get started right away!

Post Additional v3 API Functionality Added!

We have added in the second round of functionality to the API which gives you the ability to do pretty much everything via the API at this point. The documentation is still in the works although we have updated the PHP Wrapper Class so that it can be used to take full advantage of the new functionality.

At this point, the following features have been implemented:
    • Member
      • Show, Edit, & Create
      • Remote Authentication
      • Existing Trackers & Add New Tracker
      • Statistics: RAF & Rakeback: By date range and by tracker
      • Payments: History & Balances
      • Cashouts: History & Create New Cashout
      • Support Tickets: View, Create, & Reply
    • Misc
      • Find Member by Username
      • SSL Support Added
      • Numerous Data Feeds (Offers, Promotions Listing, Leaderboards, etc)
We hope you find the new API to be useful - please let us know if you have any questions or suggestions!

Just wanted to update this thread to let everyone know that the API Documentation is substantially improved at this point and documents ~95% of the available API calls. We have also added documentation for the Member Statistics API calls (we accidentially forgot to get this into the documentation, oops!).

You can find the updated API Docs via the main PAS v3 Documentation home, near the bottom of the page:

As always, let us know if you have any questions or requests - we'll do our best to help!

    Thanks,

A quick (small) update to the v3 API...

We have added a Websites call that allows you to make a (signed) GET request to: /websites.xml

    Fields Returned are:
Website Name, Website ID, Website Domain Name, and Website Status

This should make it easier for you to quickly build a 100% dynamic integration without having to manually place a Website ID in your code or look it up.

For anyone that may be using .NET to interact with the PAS API, we are now offering a .NET port of our PHP wrapper library to get you up & running even faster. Check out the new PAS API .NET Wrapper Library on GitHub!

    Hi Arthur,

I know this is from another board but I was curious if you could expand on this comment:

With the API and a bit of development you can do anything from having a 'Main' CMS website along with a rakeback website (and 'combined' single user-logins) or you could even host it all yourself and use any platform of your choosing such as Joomla, WordPress, etc. The options and possible implementations are really limited only by your imagination and the amount of development time that you want to invest.

We do currently have plans to release several additional plugins (plugins are planned or under development for Joomla & vBulletin so far) that allow you to very easily install the plugin and then have a fully-functioning & self-hosted rakeback website powered off of the PAS engine via only the API (and then you'd use Joomla, etc to manage your content). We don't have a release date for these plugins (or the accompanying demo websites) quite yet but we do hope to have them out in the next few weeks.

Do you have any update on the proposed vbulletin plugin you mention in the above quote?

    Thanks
