Embedding Video in Your PAS Site

by Cena on 04-05-2012 at 01:31 PM
I’ve gotten a number of requests recently asking about embedding video into a PAS site. Video can definitely add interactivity and interest to your site, so if you haven’t already, you might want to consider adding a video or two to yours. It's very simple!

There are two major video sharing sites: YouTube and Vimeo. Both make it easy to embed a video hosted there. In both cases, you’ll simply copy the code provided and paste it inside your PAS CMS wherever you want it to display.

YouTube:

On YouTube, fclick the ‘Share’ button below the video you want to embed:

This will lead to an option to select the ‘Embed’ button:

Clicking the Embed button will display the code that you can embed in your page, as well as other options you can set:

VIMEO:

Vimeo makes it a bit easier, with only 2 steps to follow instead of 3.
Click ‘Embed’:

And the code appears. You can click the ‘customize embed options’ to customize the appearance of the video:

And that's it! Keep those hounds happy!

How To Access Your Coral Account ID

by Cena on 02-17-2012 at 01:37 PM
We’ve gotten a number of support tickets regarding players’ account IDs and where they are found. These IDs are used by Coral for tracking purposes, rather than user/screen names, so when it appears that a player isn’t generating stats, make sure that their Coral tracker is represented by a number that starts with 2008xxxxx. If it is anything else, then it is an invalid tracker.

Ask the player to find their account ID by using the following steps.

The player can find his account number by logging into the Coral site (not client).
Then click on ‘Account’ from the main page:

From there, click on ‘Update Details’:

Go to ‘Personal Details in the sub-navigation, as below:

The Account ID is here:

Once we have this information, we can easily check tracking and correct the tracker in the player’s profile page

PAS Support Report - July 2011

by Cena on 07-26-2011 at 05:05 PM
It is important to the PAS team that our support is responsive, high quality and continuously improving. Below you will find some insight into our support group; ideally establishing a level of transparency and accountability that promotes these goals.

Let’s take a quick look at our most recent stats. For June, our member tickets looked like this:

Please note that the ‘Avg Time for Global Reply’ denotes how long, on average, it took us resolve a ticket, from submission by a member to closing by support staff. Resolution is from ticket open to close – not a first response time.

Most commonly, tickets that remain open more than 24 hours or so are a result of either a) waiting on a response from a room, or b) it requires technical intervention due to an error with incorrect data or a system bug.

By comparison, take a peek at July’s stats so far:

We saw a big influx of tickets this month – up nearly 350%. While initially the influx caused a few delays, we increased our staff and added weekend support to compensate and are now seeing response times closer to the previous level, with averages trending down. One recent addition (as of mid-April) to the help desk is designed to help understand the response time data further by use of a histogram. The chart below provides a better visual indication of how quickly most tickets are closed.

The number at the bottom of the histogram indicates number of days, so ‘0’ means that it was resolved within 24 hours, while ‘1’ indicates 24-48 hours, and so on.

We are constantly striving to improve the support experience, including improving the transparency and accountability of our support team. For example, we also have in place graphs that allow us to see the fastest and slowest tickets resolved, as well as remaining open tickets from a previous month, as well as the department and team member to which it is assigned. All of these metrics help us pinpoint problem areas and discover ways in which to make the process more timely and effective.

Poker CPA 101 - Requesting Poker Affiliate CPA Campaigns

by Cena on 02-09-2011 at 11:49 AM
Poker CPAs, or Cost Per Actions, are a type of deal that awards a one-time payment to a publisher for directing a player to signup and play at a poker room. The player must then qualify according to requirements set by the room. For example, a room might stipulate that a player must deposit $25.00 plus play and earn a net revenue of $15.00 at the room for the player to qualify. Publishers are only paid for players that qualify.

Requesting a CPA Offer

It’s extremely easy to request a CPA offer through PAS. Simply log in to your publisher control panel, and navigate to the CPA & Rev Share tab, then to Request CPA/Rev Share. You will then be presented with the current CPA (and revenue share) offers. Here you can also see the reward offered to publishers for referring qualifying players. Click ‘Request’.

You’ll then be asked whether you are already promoting CPA offers on your site. For the purposes of this tutorial, we will assume you are new to CPA deals and will select ‘No’ here.

You must then enter the website that you will be promoting the deals on. Please note that any obviously fictitious sites (e.g., http://www.facebook.com, etc.) will be automatically rejected.

You will then need to download the website verification file. This file helps prevent fraudulent requests and helps ensure the quality of the traffic we are sending to our poker room partners.

To download the file, simply right-click on the [Download] link and select ‘Save As’. It should save as ‘pas-verify.html’. This file contains a unique code that we will use to verify your website. This file must be uploaded to the top-level folder of your domain’s website. Please contact your site’s host if you are not sure about the location of your top-level (or root) folder.

Once the file is uploaded, open a new browser window and go to www.yourdomain.com/pas-verify.html. You should see a random string of letters and numbers if you have uploaded it correctly. At this point, you can click the ‘Request This Offer’ button at the bottom of the Request a New CPA/Rev Share Offer page.

Once your request is submitted, it enters our processing queue for verification and approval (or not). Generally, requests are processed with 7 business days.

Some Frequently Asked Questions

1.) Why was my request denied?

This can happen for a number of reasons, but the primary reasons are:

You supplied us with an invalid website. An invalid website could be one that doesn’t exist, or one that you do not own. In addition, you may not promote CPAs on a rakeback site hosted by PAS.

OR

You are a resident of a country which is prohibited from offering CPA deals by the poker room you’re requesting it from.

2.) What does a player need to qualify at room X?

The most up to date qualification information for all rooms can be found on each poker room affiliate program review:

http://www.pokeraffiliatesolutions.c...iate-programs/

3.) How often are stats updated?

It varies by room, but in general, once every 24 hours is the absolute best. We update stats as we receive them from the rooms, and some only do so on a monthly basis. Currently, Betfair and Black Chip Poker import monthly, while the other rooms import daily.

4.) When do I get paid?

Revenue earned from qualifying CPA players is paid on the 10th of the month for the previous month. This money is paid into your PAS account.

Mobile Gaming for Poker Players

by Cena on 01-19-2011 at 06:03 PM
There are many apps that allow you to play poker for play money currently available. Although it’s been awhile coming, the ability to play your favorite real money poker games is finally finding its way to mobile phones and tablets, slowly. If you need a quick fix, try some of the following products that allow you to get your game on anywhere.

Full Tilt Rush Poker Mobile: This is a free app available from Online Poker at Full Tilt Poker - How to Play: Rush Poker Mobile that allows you to play just as you would on a desktop system. The primary differences are that you cannot deposit from the mobile app, nor can you access your hand history. Any settings in your desktop client will be replicated in the mobile app.

Available on: Android 2.2 devices

Switch Poker: Is another free app available from http://switchpoker.com. This is a relatively new poker site that offers real money no-limit hold’em 6-max games, with full ring, tournaments, and pot limit Omaha due to be added in the future. This is currently the only way to play poker on your Iphone without a hack. Switch does not accept U.S. players.

Available on: Iphone, Ipad, web browsers.

The primary reason a poker app isn’t available for Iphone/Ipad is the lack of Flash support. The Full Tilt Rush app uses Flash for its interface, which is why it is not compatible with the Iphone. Although Absolute Poker has a Java app, the lack of a complete Java implementation in Safari for Iphone makes it a non-starter.

One solution for those of you wanting to play poker on your Apple mobile device is LogMeIn (http://www.logmein.com), which allows you to remotely control your desktop computer from your Iphone or Ipad. You’ll need to download both a desktop client and the Iphone/Ipad app, which is currently $29.99 in the App Store. This app will allow you to log in to your home computer through your mobile device, and control all files, browsers, and applications as if you were sitting in front of it. Many poker players have reported successfully using this to access their favorite poker room, particularly on the Ipad.

None of these products are promoted or supported by Poker Affiliate Solutions.
