The Boss Network Bad Beat Jackpot promotion has eclipsed the €1 million mark ($1.43 million) and is now into record territory. The prospect of winning a huge prize is bringing many players to the Bad Beat Jackpot tables on the Boss Network. Affiliates should be aggressively marketing this jackpot until it is hit, not only because of the record prize but also because the current jackpot levels easily reach the positive expected value mark – which is generally in the €300k-€500k range. This simply means that the Bad Beat Jackpot prize amount is past a point at which the extra €0.50 jackpot drops are not worth the prize that players can earn -- from a value perspective --when considering the odds of hitting the jackpot and other factors. Affiliate Incentives PAS partner rooms Fortune Poker, Poker Heaven and Interpoker are giving affiliates even more reason to heavily promote the offer. If one of your players wins, loses or is even dealt cards on the same table where the Jackpot is hit, as an affiliate you will receive the following prizes: Winner of the Jackpot: €10,000 affiliate reward Loser of the Jackpot: €5,000 affiliate reward Dealt cards: €500 affiliate reward To be eligible for the prize, you will need to complete ALL of the following requirements: --Have a Bad Beat Jackpot story on the home page --Have a BBJ widget on the front page or a leading sub-section. Widget is here: . --We have also created a banner that affiliates can use as they wish. --Send out a mailer to your playerbase When the Bad Beat Jackpot is hit, the site will notify the winning players and any affiliate who has won a bonus prize. Terms of the Bad Beat Jackpot Prize: Hitting a Bad Beat Jackpot is not easy and is one reason why the prize pool is so high right now. In order for a player to qualify for a Bad Beat Jackpot, the player must first be seated at a designated Bad Beat Jackpot table, which is available at €1/€2-€10/€20 for Fixed Limit Hold'em and €0.50/€1.00-€5/€10 at No Limit Hold'em. In order for the Bad Beat Jackpot to be hit, a player must lose with Quad Tens or higher. Once the Quad Tens are beat, 70% of the jackpot will be awarded with 50% of that amount going to the loser, 25% to the winner and 25% split between the other players dealt cards in the hand. The remaining 30% will be split between reseeding the next jackpot (20%) and an admin fee (10%). Other terms of the Bad Beat Jackpot include: --Four players must be dealt into the hand to qualify --A Jackpot contribution of €0.50 will be taken out for each raked hand. --The Hand must go to a showdown --Both players must use both hole cards --Players may not discuss their hand while playing Promote the offer for any of the following sites:
As I was doing my standard poker promotion update on Friday – which I post each month in the PAS forum -- I was really surprised at the extent at which European sites are stepping up to the plate again with special promotions, just as they did in the aftermath of Black Friday. Only this time poker sites are trying to scoop up European players displaced by the Full Tilt Poker situation. On Monday, Party Poker joined the parade by announcing that they would be waiving all tournament buy-in fees. These sites are clearly trying VERY hard to accumulate players while Full Tilt Poker is down. According to PokerScout, poker sites are already reaping the benefits of the shutdown. Cake Poker is up 41%, PKR up 32% (in large part due to a “lite” client release) and Party Poker is up over 23%. Other PAS sites/networks of interest include: Boss (20%) iPoker (13%), Microgaming (7%) and Entraction (7%). Keep in mind that this during a time of year when traffic is historically down. Hopefully, you’ve already begun marketing to these players looking for a new home. I don’t think I’ll ever say that bonuses and promotion are as good for players as they were 5-6 years ago, but there really seems to be a similar calculated effort to aggressively attract players -- a mini online poker player Gold Rush, if you will. In today’s follow-up to my informational post on Thursday -- where I went over the top alternatives to Full Tilt Poker – I go over the top promotions being offered by European facing poker rooms, many of them specifically targeted to European Full Tilt Poker players. __________________________________________________ ________________________________ Party Gaming Rake-Free Tournaments: For a limited time, Party Poker players will not be charged ANY buy-in fees, effectively yielding players 100% rakeback at multi-table tournaments. Hopefully we don’t see players complain about not being able to accumulating Party Points. Reload: 100% up to $200 on a player’s next deposit when using bonus code 200JULY until August 7th. Players must earn 6 Party Points per $1 of bonus money, the equivalent of 33% rakeback. $100,000 Freeroll: Players depositing for the 200JULY reload bonus will also receive access to a $100,000 freeroll on August 7th. VIP Upgrades: Any player that was a VIP player on Full Tilt Poker can email proof to Party Poker. Then earn 1,000 Party Points within 15 days ($500 rake) and be automatically upgraded to the second highest VIP status on Party Poker. The Rest: World Domination starts on July 8th and runs through the end of the summer. Players that accumulate Party Points will earn cities on map. Once players have earned curtained cities and conquered countries or continents they will earn freeroll entries and cash prizes. The Summer Million Freerolls provide entries to the $1,000,000 Guaranteed tournament coming. Make sure your players don’t forget about 50% VIP currently running on the site. PAS publishers can also offer player $22,000 in freerolls during the month ($12,000 in freerolls for new players, $10,000 for existing) If you have a player who has a Party Poker account that wishes to sign-up to Party Poker, refer them to WPT Poker instead. __________________________________________________ ________________________________ iPoker Network Large Sign-Up Bonuses: iPoker sites are stepping up to the plate with larger bonuses. After Black Friday, iPoker rules were thrown out the window and players and affiliates started to see skins offer $1,000 bonuses. After the Full Tilt license suspension, Titan Poker, Mansion Poker and BetFred began offering $2,000 sign-up bonuses (200% matches, with Betfred offering a 100% match). Genting Poker is offering a 400% up to $1,000 match. Mega Reload: The iPoker Network isn’t forgetting about the existing players either, offering these players a 100% up to $5,000 Mega Reload Bonus. Each site has slightly different Mega Reload terms, but most of these bonuses will be running until July 14th (Mansion and Titan will run until July 17th). The Mega Reload bonus releases in two stages. The first stage is 25% of the deposit amount up to $1250 and the Stage 2 bonus is 75% of the deposit share up to $3,750. The second part of the bonus will clear slightly slower than the first part. The Rest: Betfred is awarding a Royal Flush bonus of 100x the Big Blind up to $1,000 until the middle of September. Titan Poker’s Summer Jackpots will award over $500,000 in prizes through August. If you’re reading this as a PAS publisher, you’re probably very familiar with the hundreds of thousands of dollars in exclusive promotions we offer each month at PAS. You've come to expect high dollar value promos at many sites, so chances are you may not be overly excited when you initially hear about our latest round of NEW PAS player promotions: $1,000 Europoker Points Race $3,000 Betfair Point Race & Tourney Chase $1,450 Gadget tournament at Interpoker Not really that exited, are you? So it will probably surprise most of you to hear that, for me, these three promotions are some of the most exciting we have had on PAS yet -- at least in the year I have been at PAS. While a $60,000 Rake Race and $25,000 Rake Chase that we offer at many sites are great promotions and may catch more attention for their total dollar figure, the new promotions will very likely provide unprecedented value to players and certainly should not be overlooked in your promotion and marketing efforts for March. So what’s so special about these promotions and why should your players care? Let’s take a look at the $1k Europoker Points Race. By my watch, it’s March 8th and there are currently NO players on the leaderboard. Yep, no players tracked. Not. A. Soul. The first prize of $275 is begging -- BEGGING -- to be taken. It’s been said that “There’s no such thing as a free lunch,” but that was before this promotion was introduced. OK, maybe I’m being a bit unnecessarily dramatic, but as a proud “bonus/rakeback whore,” I can’t bear the thought of EV like this possibly being flushed down the toilet. I say this not as a PAS rep, but as someone who enjoying sharing high value opportunities with like-minded individuals: insta-call these promotions. March New Promotion Summary: Europoker $1,000 Points Race: Europoker pays the top 10 PAS points generators during March with cash prizes up to $275. Have I mentioned that there are no players currently on the leaderboard? Players from PAS sites who register in March will also receive instant VIP upgrades for 999 days (2.74 years – long enough to tide over the 2012 doomsdayer players). The VIP program pays up to 40% in valueback and normally requires 500 Player Points per month to qualify. Betfair $3,000 Points Race/Tourney Ticket Chase: We’ve had Betfair on PAS for quite some time, so we do have more players tracked to PAS sites than we do for Europoker (This just in: more than zero is not that hard to do). With that said, this is a new promotion that's also seeing relatively light participation at the moment. While the promotion doesn’t appear to have value of epic proportions like the Europoker Race, it still seems that this race will pay more in cash than some players have to generate in rake. In addition, Betfair players that earn 100 PP per day over a designated number of days will receive either a $22 ticket (5 days) or a $54 tournament ticket (15 days). Interpoker Gadget $1,450 Tournament: Stacked up against the value of the previous two promotions, the Interpoker promotion feels a bit lost in the shuffle. This Little Promo That Could is still a great tournament worthy of promotion and actually could provide value similar to the Europoker promo, depending on participation. The PAS exclusive Gadget tournament, held on April 10th, will award top gadgets -- a 32 inch TV, Canon camcorder, iPod Touch, Kindle and a GPS Navigation -- to the top five players in this tournament. New players can qualify by generating as little as $1 in rake during March; existing members of Interpoker can qualify by generating $50 in rake. Once qualifying, players must buy-in for $1. Some Final Thoughts Again, don’t let the dollar amounts make you overlook promoting these offers to your players -- there is some serious value here. Plus, we didn’t even get into the value of the sign-up bonuses, rakeback (Interpoker) and other VIP perks. Yes, believe it or not, I try to keep my posts short. Lastly, don’t forget that these promotions -- like all PAS promos -- are not deducted from commissions, so there is no reason for you not to share these great opportunities to your players. Good luck and happy promoting!
Alex Gardiner, our UK brand manager and former Interpoker affiliate manager, had a chance to exchange words with Yvette, Intepoker's current affiliate manager. In the interview she explains her history in the industry, life in Malta, the male dominated poker industry and Interpoker's place in the market. She also is kind enough to give PAS publishers a few pointers. 1. Yvette, can you please tell our publishers a bit more about yourself and your role at InterPoker? Maybe you could tell us a little about Malta and Maltese life? Yvette: Sure, my role at Interpoker is that of Poker Affiliate Manager. I manage the accounts of all our Poker Affiliates in all markets and I really work hard to give my affiliates a great personalised service, good advice and assistance for them to get the best out of our partnership. I love building great working long standing relationships with professionalism as well as a great sense of humour. I am a very outgoing person who thrives on giving the best possible ‘service with a smile’ to my affiliates. I have been living in Malta all my life, though I have traveled extensively but I always feel the need to come back to Malta because Malta offers a secure, family oriented lifestyle, easy going culture and amazing weather conditions. Though small, Malta is very rich in culture and history and I feel very proud of my heritage. 2. How long have you been in the online gaming industry and how did you end up at InterPoker? I have been in the online gaming industry since 2006, first at Gnuf/Betway.com, then at Betfair and now at Interpoker. I moved to Inter because I knew this job was a great step forward in my career because it required me to manage the Poker side of our affiliate programme on my own and that would give me more exposure and responsibility to grow my career. 3. The gaming industry is known for being a bit of a "sausage fest" so to speak! What's it like being a women in a predominantly male industry? Actually I feel flattered to be a woman in a male industry because it’s more of a challenge and I love challenges. 4. What is your favourite thing about the job? A little birdy tells me you love running reports for affiliates Hehe Alex I love your sense of humour. Though I feel I’m quite capable of producing reports and I know how important they are to our affiliates to monitor performance, I would say my favourite part of the job is coming up with new innovative ideas together with my affiliates for them to acquire/retain as many players as possible. 5. Tell us about life in Malta. It seems more and more operators and affiliates are moving there. Why do you think that is? It's a fairly small island, so do you ever bump into your affiliates? Life in Malta is just great! We are blessed with nice sunny weather almost all year round, beautiful beaches, great nightlife, laid back culture and friendly, caring people. The main reason why operators move to Malta is due to the advantageous tax laws for i-gaming companies and now a few years down the line, the country offers a lot of i-gaming expertise, so operators are sure to employ dedicated, experienced people. I do occasionally bump into my affiliates which is just great as it helps improve even more our relationship. 6. InterPoker is on the IPN (Boss Media) Network so you don’t currently accept US players. Do you see the US regulated market opening up any time soon? Is InterPoker ready to take advantage when the market opens up? There have been talks about the US opening again in the past years. I think that would be great and feel that with legislation banning gaming in various countries around the world we are always ready to explore different regions where to grow our business 7. What are InterPoker’s key markets and what would you say is behind the popularity of the brand in these countries? UK, Scandinavia, East Europe. The Inter brand has a long standing good reputation with players. This year we will focus on the German market too as we see great opportunities there and we have the poker client in German too which should make the process easier 8. What would you say are the biggest challenges facing InterPoker over the next few years? For all operators I guess is the individual country legislation which are the biggest challenge because it is something beyond our control and that is what scares the most 9. A number of European countries such as France, Italy, Germany and Denmark have recently introduced a number of new rules and regulations for online gambling. How have these new laws affected InterPoker and the Boss Media Network? Are there any plans for InterPoker to apply for any new licenses if required? For now we had to ban France & Italy as well as Canada. This was not good however we are always on the lookout for new untapped regions. With regards to licenses, we always make sure to operate in a transparent manner with each country to protect the company and player interests. 10. There are plenty of skins on the IPN (Boss Media) Network, but what would you say are the things that give InterPoker an edge over the competition? (Can you explain why players should play InterPoker over some of the major online poker rooms such as PokerStars or Full Tilt?) We offer huge value to the players. We have planned amazing promos this year and we are already seeing mass participation. We offer over EUR3.4K in tournaments every month, our own series of live events, a VIP club which is second to none, rakeback..the list is endless 11. Do you have any advice for publishers that will help them to encourage more players to sign up at InterPoker? By showing the players what huge value they can get and if they are PAS players even more cause they get to participate in our $5000 race in collaboration with Poker Heaven as well as random exclusive, value laden promotions 12. Why should PAS Publishers start promoting InterPoker more aggressively and at the top of their websites? Maybe you could tell our publishers about the new promos we've got lined up? Because since we have kicked off our 2011 promotions, we have seen conversions increase massively and we also work hand in hand with PAS to keep their players active with exclusive promos, reactivations etc. This year apart from the usual rake race we are planning to run cool gadget promos and live seat qualifiers.
