  1. TIP 16: Post your offers anywhere

    by , 09-15-2009 at 01:01 AM
The Offers XML feed allows you to post a list of your offers and link to them from anywhere on the internet. If you have a top level domain and a subdomain you can use this to post a list of your offers on your top level domain, but the possibilities don't end there. You could post your offers on a blog, forum or any other website that you have control of.

You simply need to have a PAS rakeback website and access to a server that can run php files.

    How it's done

    1. Copy the contents of the following link into a text editor:

    http://www.pokeraffiliatesolutions.c..._xmlparse.phps

    2. Save your new file as e.g. "nav-offers.php"

    3. before you close the editor, youll want to change "www.raketracker.com" to the URL of your PAS rakeback website (see below).

$xml = file_get_contents('http://www.raketracker.com/interfaces/api/offers.php');4. Save and upload your new file to the server that hosts your website.

    5. Add it to your new website using php's include command:

<?php include('http://www.mysite.com/nav-offers.php'); ?>You can now import style information from your rakeback site (pas_nav_offers in the skin css file) or apply your own.

You can also customize the structure of the list, and what values are included (such as sign up bonus, poker room network etc).

You now have a self updating menu of all the offers available at your rakeback site. Wherever it is posted on the web it will link back to your site and it will always display the offers and percentages that you choose to offer.

  2. TIP 15: Incentive Based Links

    by , 09-15-2009 at 01:01 AM
Did you know you have a built in system to reward people who link to your site? Giving people a direct reward for bringing you successful conversions is one of the easiest and most tested ways to encourage others to link to your website.

    How It's Done
Anyone who signs up for your site will be assigned a custom tracking code. They can view this code after logging in by visiting the referral center. This code can be coupled with a simple text link or a banner. Should your signup choose to post his/her referral link on their website/blog, successful conversions will be automatically credited to them. As always, all the accounting is taken care of for you, PAS will ensure that the contributor is paid for bringing in signups.

We depend on your input for developing software and tailoring our services. Because all of us manage different parts of the operation, very few of us at PAS experience the software the same way you do.

Please take a moment to register for the forums if you haven't. Put some thought into what services you'd like to see PAS offer and let us know with a suggestion. We won't be able to implement everyone's feature requests, but we do read and value every one, and collectively they play a major role on shaping the future of our service.

If you're reading the blog take a quick moment to comment and let us know what you think, or just let us know your reading!

  4. TIP 13: What are they searching for?

    by , 09-15-2009 at 01:01 AM
You might think that by this point all the best rakeback key words and phrases have been stolen away by timely opportunists. On the surface, that sentiment is difficult to argue with. If your are targeting the word "Rakeback" you have a serious hill to climb before you'll make a significant dent in search results.

Even if you are late to the party, there is still plenty of room for a few key reasons:

    1) The near infinite possibilities of language - there are countless ways to say almost anything in almost any language. Language is so ripe with possibilities that it's highly likely that you often utter a combination of words that no human has ever said before.

    2) The Esoteric Nature of Rakeback Rakeback is an esoteric word, or a word that only industry insiders are likely to know about. Someone who is new to online poker isn't likely to search for industry terms. I'm not sure anyone has a firm idea of what poker novices search for, but it's very likely to vary widely and it's also likely to be less contested than currently popular terms and keywords.

    3) The amount of people doing it wrong Even websites with page ranks that are well established and expertly crafted can be useless garbage. I'm confident that these sites designed for a very narrow purpose of limited utility can be reasonably easily usurped.

    How it's done.

Start with a search phrase - a combination of key words that people who are likely to take advantage of your service might type in Google or another sear engine. Remember, you don't want owners of pet pythons from Jurisprudence Wyoming, you want good traffic that converts!

Take your search for a test drive. What is the quality of site that come up in the first page of results? How closely are the links provided related to the content you search? Can you tell why these particular links floated to the top?

If your answers to the above questions indicate to you that there is an opening, set a specific goal - to appear near the top of the list for results for that specific search term.

Take a two pronged attack. First, make pages that a relevant to your search phrase, and useful to people who would make the search. Take some time, do some research, put some thought into it. Second, get those keywords in. Add them in your written content where they are appropriate and flow naturally. Then add them to Meta keywords, titles and insert them in links (see my first post in this series).

Keep at it, try several different methods of attacking your search phrase, and be patient when evaluating the Google results. Your changes aren't likely to pay off instantly - while waiting to evaluate the fruits of your labor spend some time working on other tips in this thread and tweaking design.

If you fail to reach your goal after exhausting all immediate possibilities It's OK, you have still improved your product and your likelihood to be found by search engines. Take what you've learned and apply it to a different phrase. Speculate about the reasons you failed, and use this conjecture in developing your next effort.

If you succeed congrats! Observe how your new traffic behaves, should you work on improving conversion or should you go after another search phrase? When you are ready to attack the next phrase, choose something tangentially but not intimately related to your original attack. Continue to expand the breadth of your website using proven methods, don't settle for a single victory.

  5. TIP 12: Show us your features!

    by , 09-15-2009 at 01:01 AM
Even if you have a small budget and a simple design, working with Poker Affiliate Solution's software suite means your players have access to sophisticated account features.

(NOTE: Please be cautious not to show private offers on outer pages! If your not sure if something is sensitive please ask us, some poker site can be very finicky about this!)

The default skin system doesn't showcase this very well. Because our publishers choose to present their website's in so many different ways, we leave it up to you to sell the features that you think will be the most appealing.

    How it's done
Take some time to share in the user experience of your website by doing activities that you expect your users to do. Explore the statistics tracking and reporting, payments and profile features.

If you have some activity in your account, you should be able to take some screen-shots showcasing these features. You might be able to show a payment report, a statistics history, or a nice upward trending graph. You might want to use imaging software to elaborate on your screen-shots. Do this by editing some of the numbers to show how the interface would like if a user was earning hundreds or thousands in promotions, referrals or rakeback. In addition consider adding captions, or using arrows to point out specific features.

These displays should pique a potential signup's interest and showcase both how income can be earned in different ways, and that you have an effective high tech account system.

Personally, whenever I consider creating an account for a particular service - whether I'm purchasing something or not - I look for screen shots of the interfaces I expect to be using. If a software provider can't show me something that looks like it will do what I want in the way I want to do it, I'll likely pass. Expect the same of your visitors, and show them that you have an advanced account and support system that is equitable to anything else from any other rakeback provider on the net!
