PAS is pleased to announce that we have integrated a Facebook Connect feature into default PAS publisher sites. Over the last couple years, we've all seen a substantial increase in the use of Facebook Connect by third party sites as a way for a site's members to log in with their Facebook identity. With the addition of this feature to PAS, members of PAS publisher sites who have the feature enabled will be able to create accounts and log-in via their Facebook account. The biggest benefit of the feature is ease of use. Upon sign-up, a registering member will simply need to click the “Sign-Up Through Facebook” button to instantly have an account on your site – no need to register another account with separate details. When a member returns, they can click the “Login with Facebook” button to instantly be signed on to their account if they are already logged in to Facebook. As a PAS publisher, you have a bit of flexibility in being able to insert the tokens wherever you wish. Info and Instruction on the feature Default PAS publisher sites may already have noticed the feature automatically added to their homepage and sign-up form. If not, you can see the feature in action here on my very basic test site: http://gonzo.pokeraffiliatesolutions.com/ Please note in an effort to have the feature on as many domains as possible, your members are greeted with a “Log-in to use your Facebook account with PAS” message by default. You may use your own app if you would like your site name replaced with "PAS". Follow steps 1-4 if you would like your members to be greeted with a custom message. If you are ok with the default message, you only need to follow steps 1 and 4. If you see the new Facebook Connect feature on your site and are pleased with the results, no action is required. Steps: 1) Make sure connect.js is set up in your CMS (if you have a site created before February 7th, 2012 you would need to check this). Navigate to layout/layout.html and make sure the following code is in the header: Also make sure the the following code is in the body: 2) Set up a Facebook Connect App from https://developers.facebook.com/. Click “Apps” and then APP. Make sure to fill out your app domain name (i.e. gonzotwo.pokeraffiliatesolutions) and site URL (i.e. http://gonzotwo.pokeraffiliatesolutions). 3) Record your APP ID from this step and add it to your PAS Admin Page. From your PAS admin, insert that ID into the following location: Website Management>Website Summary>Edit Settings>Facebook App. 4) Edit or Add the following tokens wherever you would like: {{ facebook_login_tag }} {{ facebook_register_tag }} Please let us know if you have any questions about this feature.

In putting together this month's PAS newsletter I was reminded of the fact that we work in a very volatile industry that can seem to change on a daily basis. Keeping up with the ever-changing industry can have its challenges. Well, part of my job at PAS is to make that easier for you. If you weren't informed about a policy change or an important piece of news, it might be my fault. That's assuming you're paying attention, of course. Every once in awhile, a publisher will give us feedback that we didn't publicize a particular bit of news effectively enough. "I don't come to the forum every day, this should have been announced elsewhere" is the type of thing I occasionally hear. This can certainly be a fair statement. With PAS as your affiliate service provider, it's our job to make sure you are aware of the important news and information that can affect your business. I (and PAS as a whole) uses the feedback we receive to make sure we are communicating in an effective way to as many of you ask possible. I think -- and hope -- that we are doing a good job for you in these areas. Please let us know if we aren't. So if you aren't familiar with the ways that PAS communicates important news, you may wonder what can you do to keep up. What can you do to make sure that you aren't missing anything important that may be relevant to your business, PAS or the industry? Well, I think you can feel pretty confident that you are being adequately informed by doing at least one -- hopefully more -- of the following: Read our blog: The big news and information is usually posted on the blog. Any relevant item related to PAS, the industry or features related to being a poker affiliate will be posted here. We also include plenty of affiliate tips, advice and information on running your business (this is area we hope to expand upon soon). Check the forum on a daily basis: Usually, everything posted on the blog is also posted in the forum. Less significant bits of news that weren't major enough to devote an entire blog post to can also be found here. Of course since it's a forum, you can also chat with fellow affiliates about PAS, affiliate marketing and SEO. Make sure you share your suggestions as well. Follow us on Twitter or Facebook: If you prefer a more a passive way of following PAS, social media is great. We make sure to share the most relevant information through these channels, but I would suggest also checking up on the forum as well. If I were to recommend one over the other, I'd suggest following us on Twitter. Make sure you are subscribed to our newsletter: Our newsletters are a great way to keep up with what is going on at PAS; however, I strongly recommend not relying on our newsletters exclusively. Because we try to keep emails to publishers to an appropriate minimum, you may not find out about low to medium priority developments until many days after the fact. We send out a monthly newsletter on the 1st of the month, which primarily includes news and affiliate highlights from the previous month (much of which is from the forum or blog). We also generally send out 1-3 newsletters during the month pertaining to important news and/or promotions. If you keep up with us via these channels, there is a very good chance you won't miss anything that we feel you "need to know." Again, we are always striving to improve our communication with our publishers. If you have a suggestion on something we can improve, please let us know.

In recent weeks and months there have been many questions from publishers requesting clarification on our payment policy at PAS. With August payments about to roll in, we thought it would be a great time to clarify some basic details about our payment processing as well as announce some exciting changes in the pipeline! Basic Payment Processing Details: Commission Payments: Commission payments are released into your PAS account on the 10th each month for activity during the previous month Cashouts from PAS account can be made via: Bankwire, check, Cake Poker or Moneybookers Once a cashout is initiated from your PAS account, the time allowed for processing is dependent upon method. Publishers can expect the following processing times: Bankwire: Up to 10 business days, plus an additional 2-3 days for bank transmission depending on location. Check: Up to 10 business, plus 2-7 days for mailing depending on location Cake: Up to 5 business days Moneybookers: Up to 10 business days Updates to Payment Processing Check Minimums Decreasing: We're very pleased to announce that starting September 10th, check minimums will be decreasing from $1,000 to $500. New Payment Methods Anticipated: Over the last few months, we have received many requests from publishers to add additional payment options. In addition to the four cashout methods listed above, we look for two new methods to be added by the end of the year. Carbon Poker is expected in October while the highly-anticipated introduction of Neteller withdrawals is expected in December. Eurobet Option Temporarily Down: With Eurobet currently undergoing a transition, transfers to the site will not be offered as a withdrawal method in September. We anticipate offering payments through the Coral system once the transition has been complete. Absolute Poker/Ultimate Bet Methods: Both methods will no longer be available in the payment dropdown options section; however, the options will still be available for publishers with pre-Black Friday earnings that would like to request payment at these rooms. Please make payment requests via the publisher_payments@pokeraffiliatesolutions.com email address. At PAS, we're always looking for ways to improve payment processing and service for our publisher partners. If you have any questions, suggestions or concerns about anything payment processing related at PAS, be sure to contact us.
