Last week, Lock Poker and the Cake Poker Network announced that Lock was in the process of acquiring the Cake Poker Network and rebranding as the Revolution Network. On that day they promised big changes. With today's announcement they have delivered. Effective June 1st, rakeback on the network will be increasing from 33% to 36%. All other rakeback terms will remain the same. The new 36% dealt rate will apply to both existing and new players of all Cake Poker Network sites. The new rakeback rates will not eat into affiliate commissions. Margins will remain the same that they were under pre-June commissions. The 36% rate puts the Cake Poker Network near the top of the rakeback range, especially for larger networks, surpassing the standard 27-35% rates of most other sites. On the Merge Gaming Network, Lock Poker offered 35% rakeback until June of 2011. Rakeback is not currently allowed on the Merge Gaming Network but is still available for players that signed up through a rakeback site prior to June of 2011. As stated, only player rates will be changing. The Cake Poker Network will continue to be one of the few poker networks under the dealt rake calculation system, which many rakeback players prefer, especially those that play a tighter game. Payment dates will remain the same. At Cake Poker, for example, players are paid rakeback every Thursday for rake generated during the previous Wednesday through Tuesday period. There are no deductions to rakeback, although affiliates do receive deductions to their commissions for items such as bonuses. Stay tuned to PAS for the latest information on Lock Poker's migration to the Cake Poker Network.
Update 5/14: Our Titan Poker rep has informed us that Titan Poker has made this move in hopes of obtaining a license in the Spanish market. On Thursday morning PAS received word that Titan Poker will no longer accept new depositors from Spain ahead of the Spanish market opening up on June 1st. The move will affect Titan brands Titan Poker, Titan Casino and Titan Bet. Interestingly, another Europartners brand, Mansion Poker will apparently continue to accept new depositors from Spain. Titan Poker is one of the most popular and recognizable poker rooms on the iPoker network, frequently referred to as the flagship brand of the network. Unlike fellow iPoker heavyweights William Hill, Genting and Betfred, Titan Poker has no brick and mortar presence. In addition to their popular .com room, Titan Poker also currently holds a French license, operating on the iPoker.fr network as Titan.fr. According to Pokerfuse, 40 license operators are believed to have applied for licenses in Spain. Poker brands thought to be on the list include PokerStars, Party Poker and Ladbrokes. Other poker rooms such as Unibet, Bodog and Microgaming have already opted out of the new market, which is thought to rival the ring fenced markets of Italy and France. We will update this post when we have more information on the specifics of Titan Poker's latest move.
Several offers have launched on the PAS network over the last few months, but arguably none more interesting than Muchos Poker, a poker room we first featured on this blog just a couple weeks ago. There are several things to like about Muchos Poker, but we can pretty much summarize them by breaking it down like this: --6 poker rooms in one site (more rumored on the way). Convenience. Convenience. Convenience. Players not only have access to six poker rooms immediately, but Muchos Poker makes transfers between networks a breeze. --Top level deals on each network (Rakeback + Bonus/VIP or Bonus/VIP) --On Demand Rakeback/Rewards We think all PAS publishers should be giving this room a serious look. But if you need another reason to promote Muchos Poker, how about a custom landing page? As a special offer to PAS publishers, Muchos Poker will create a custom message for your Muchos Poker landing page. If you are interested please contact Seb with the subject "Muchos Poker Landing Page" along with your preferred message. To start promoting Muchos Poker, request a campaign from the PAS publisher admin. Revenue-share requests are usually processed within 72 hours.
For over six months, the online poker community has had to endure countless rumors, speculation and deadlines (that came and went) regarding the future of Full Tilt Poker. The tide finally looks to be changing in the last couple weeks with tangible developments including Pocket Kings job postings and an Alderney license filing. Over the last two days, yet more activity has come to light from the 2+2 online poker community, including the establishment of a new Laurent Tapie Full Tilt company and new activity on the Full Tilt Poker website. To add credibility to the developments and rumors, ESPN's Andrew Feldmen has posted via Twitter that he has been told "there is going to be a major development shortly." A summary of the latest Full Tilt Poker activity includes: New Full Tilt Limited: It has come to light that Laurent Tapie has been appointed director and secretary in New Full Tilt Poker Limited, a company incorporated on February 14th. According to the Pokerfuse report, the company was originally started with capital of €1 million. The new company is listed as a "software consultancy and supply" firm. Activity on the Full Tilt Poker Website: Keen-eyed players have noticed that fulltiltpoker.eu has undergone minor changes over the last few days. Specifically, the number of players "online now" was briefly changed to 411 before going back to the regular "System Update" message. Could Full Tilt Poker be testing the site? New Malta Company: An estute 2+2 poster noted that two Full Tilt Poker companies have been registered in Malta on April 11th. The names of the companies are Full Tilt Holding Ltd. and New Full Tilt Ltd. Both companies are located in Sliema, Malta. More Job Postings: Pocket Kings posted for a handful of customer service related jobs a couple weeks ago. They now appear to seeking graphic designers in a contract role. The position is availlable for 2 months with a potential to extend to a third month. Other positions include a fraud operations analyst, cashier operations analyst and payment security analyst. The fact that this recent activity appears to coming together at the same is credible cause of optimism, which by the way would be extremely welcomed by an industry eager for genuinely good news. Of course, even if Full Tilt Poker were to launch in the next couple months, there would still be many questions to answer. Many Europeans and industry observers will wonder if Full Tilt Poker can still be relevant one year after Black Friday. Meanwhile, US players are dying to know what will happen to their funds now that the ball will be in the Department of Justice's court. And of course, Affiliates are curious to see if they will be compensated for existing players and if they will be part of the picture after a relaunch.
The latest answer to Rush Poker is now live for real money play. Dubbed Fast Poker, players can join these games via Unibet Poker, a top poker room on the Microgaming Network. The game will also available on Betsson and iGame, as part of the new Relax Fast Poker Network. With the launch of Fast Poker, online poker players now have two Rush Poker-like options. Last month, PokerStars launched Zoom Poker to high acclaim from players. To play Fast Poker on Unibet, players must create a new poker alias from their Unibet account. Only a browser version of the software is available. According to Unibet, a download version for Windows and Macs will be also available soon. Fast Poker works in the same ways Rush Poker did. When folding a hand at Fast Poker, you are instantly moved to another table, while the previous hand continues without your presence. Players enjoy these games because it functions as an easier and more efficient way to multi-table, allowing players to play 200-250 hands per hour on a single window. For a limited time, Unibet will give the first 4,000 active players a €10 bonus for FREE then a bonus of €200 that will be paid out in installments - €5 every €25 raked. Affiliates will receive 25% affiliate commissions for the first three months and 15% thereafter. At the time of this writing there are approximately 150 real money players on eight "pools," which seem to be indicative of the number of players during peak times. It is assumed these numbers will grow over the coming weeks as more rooms are added to the player pool. Players can currently enjoy action at Hold'em and Omaha.
