  1. Embedding Video in Your PAS Site

    by , 04-05-2012 at 01:31 PM
I’ve gotten a number of requests recently asking about embedding video into a PAS site. Video can definitely add interactivity and interest to your site, so if you haven’t already, you might want to consider adding a video or two to yours. It's very simple!

There are two major video sharing sites: YouTube and Vimeo. Both make it easy to embed a video hosted there. In both cases, you’ll simply copy the code provided and paste it inside your PAS CMS wherever you want it to display.

    YouTube:

On YouTube, fclick the ‘Share’ button below the video you want to embed:

This will lead to an option to select the ‘Embed’ button:

Clicking the Embed button will display the code that you can embed in your page, as well as other options you can set:

    VIMEO:

Vimeo makes it a bit easier, with only 2 steps to follow instead of 3.
    Click ‘Embed’:

And the code appears. You can click the ‘customize embed options’ to customize the appearance of the video:

And that's it! Keep those hounds happy!

  2. PAS Introduces Default Content Identification Feature

    by , 03-22-2012 at 04:22 PM
A common question that Brian, Cena and John receive in customer service revolves around the subject of default PAS pages and how they work. Quite often these inquiries are related to a page that hasn’t been updated on a PAS publisher’s website but that has been made on other default PAS sites. With a recently introduced Default Content Identification feature (DCI), PAS publishers will now be better equipped to manage and monitor the content of their websites.

Some Basics of Using Default PAS Content

When an affiliate registers a basic website through PAS, they are given the choice of using PAS default content on their websites. Here is an example of my very basic test site using 100% default PAS content. To what extent you use the default content is completely up to you, however. Your PAS sites are flexible to fit your needs or wants. The PAS default content is updated on a periodic basis as changes are warranted, so if you prefer, you can just let your site sit as you focus on other ways to bring players to your sites. Or you can pick and choose which content to use and what to update yourself. Of course, you can also use none of it.

One important item of note is that whenever you update a page that is using the PAS default content, the page will no longer be updated by PAS in the future. Other pages on your site will still use the default, but the specific page you updated will not. Note that tokens and other dynamic content will still function as normal, provided they have not been updated as well. You may also “Restore to Default” at any time and use the most recent PAS version of that page. Restoring to default will remove all revisions.

    Introducing Default Content Identification

A previous major problem for PAS publishers who choose to use a mix of default content and their own (which is a common practice) is recognizing or remembering what pages are being updated by PAS and which pages have been updated by you, which effectively make you responsible for future updates.

With the introduction of the Default Content Identification feature, recognizing and managing your pages just got a lot easier.

Navigate to your CMS in the Publisher Admin. Pages containing PAS default content are listed in gray, whereas pages in regular black text are using your custom content. Make sure that these pages are maintained if you strive to have an updated site. You can always restore to default or create a 100% default site for your reference.

Here’s what the new feature looks like in all its epic glory:

    Any questions about Default Content?

If you have any questions about this new feature of anything related to default CMS, don’t hesitate to contact our customer service department. For more information on the CMS, you may also refer to the FAQ.

  3. A Simple Guide on 301 Redirects Through PAS

    by , 03-07-2012 at 05:18 PM
Inspired by a question on the PAS forum regarding 301 Redirects, I thought it might be helpful to give a basic run-down on a handy tool available for PAS publishers that makes redirecting page a breeze.

First of all, you will mostly likely find the need to do a 301 redirect when you have moved a page. When you “move” a page (for instance to a more SEO-friendly URL) there may be links on your site or even back links to that original page. Of course, you want to avoid broken links at all cost so you developing a redirect to the new page is usually recommended. The process is quite simple (heck, no techs were even harmed or bothered in the making of this post) through your CMS via the publisher admin.

    Example I will be using:

    Original URL: yourpokersite.com/your-terrible-url.html
    NEW URL: yourpokersite.com/your-brand-new-awesome-url.html

    Step 1

The page that you want to redirect from (yourpokersite.com/your-terrible-url.html ) should either be “Moved” to a new URL or deleted. Make sure the page you want to redirect to has been created (yourpokersite.com/your-brand-new-awesome-url.html). The easiest way to do this is via the “Move” feature in the PAS CMS, seen below. Click “Save” when done.

Note: the page you are moving to does not exist until you “Move page” and then “Save”

    Step 2

At this point your new URL is functional, but your original will yield a 404 error. We want to avoid that, so let’s create a new redirect. Click “New redirect Page” from the upper left of the CMS as seen below.

    Step 3

From this page, enter your original URL that at this point is a broken link. Secondly, enter the new URL you want this page to go to. Click "Create" and you should be now be finished with your redirect.

    Step 4

Confirm your redirect by going to the path of the old page. You should notice a small icon with a yellow arrow over a globe. This represents that the page is being directed to another page. In my example, you can see the new page just above the redirect (yours may not be, depending on your URL path). I recommend testing the new redirect via your internet browser until you are comfortable with the process.

Good luck with your redirects and please let us know if you have any questions.

  5. The Benefits of Using PAS for Revenue-Share and CPA

    by , 07-20-2011 at 10:37 PM
It’s pretty safe to say that when many people in the industry think of PAS that “white label rakeback provider” is one of the first things to come to mind. Indeed, rakeback is a large part of our business and our identity, but as the traditional rakeback model has faded to some extent, we realize it’s very important to stay ahead of the trend and offer the products that our publisher partners desire.

While many easily recognize the benefit of having PAS as their rakeback provider, the thought may dawn on some: “Do I really even need to go through PAS to get the revenue-share or CPA deals that I seek? Can’t I just sign-up directly to get the same thing?”

Certainly, getting a revenue share deal directly from a poker site’s affiliate department is fairly easy, but we believe that we can provide you as an affiliate with many additional services and benefits that will save time and make you more money – at no cost to you – in addition to the high value rev-share and CPA deals that we offer.

    “Everything Under One Roof”:

Managing a business is difficult enough without having to manage all your affiliate accounts. With dozens of offers available at over 30 rooms – and the number of offers growing weekly – we can offer publishers deals at almost any type of room they can imagine.

If you have existing affiliate accounts at certain rooms, such as any of the Merge Gaming revenue-share offers we have added, you will have the ability to transfer these offers over to PAS to more easily manage all of them (regardless of whether they are rakeback, rev share, etc), not to mention taking advantage of the services we provide. In most cases of affiliate account transfers, you will maintain existing rates with tiered opportunities for higher commissions.

PAS publisher partners can also easily view stats in a centralized location, allowing you to conveniently view your numbers and results, which mean that managing your business financials, analytics and support has never been easier!

    Customer Service:

PAS is fortunate to have individuals on staff who have years of experience in the online poker industry and affiliate marketing. So whether you have a question about an offer, how to market a product, or if your players have a question on a variety of topics, we can get you and your players quick, educated answers to all questions.

PAS handling your customer service means less overhead and dealing with tedious tasks, allowing you more time to expand your business and enjoy your profits.

    Dealing with Affiliate Managers:

Not only can it be time consuming to work with a bunch of affiliate managers, but getting timely answers and adequate attention can be difficult, especially when you are a new, small affiliate. Our prominent position in the industry allows us to go to bat for you, effectively giving you the power of a large affiliate. That can go a long way in many areas.

    Superior Commissions:

Similar to dealing with affiliate managers, PAS can use our high volume to negotiate the best commissions available. When you sign-up directly to a new affiliate program, you are likely getting default rates. With PAS, you can rest assured that we have negotiated the best deal possible using our weight, reputation, and established relationships with poker rooms. In addition, PAS publisher partners are also able to cash out their commissions at lower limits.

    Exclusive Player Deals:

We are constantly in discussions with our poker room partners about ways that we can make it more attractive for players to sign-up through PAS publisher sites. For CPA and revenue-share deals, this sometimes starts with exclusive bonuses. With revenue-share and rakeback offers, we are increasingly adding exclusive PAS promotions, to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars each month that are in addition to the standard promotions a player receives for signing up directly to the poker room. Due to our size and large publisher base we can offer promotions that many small or medium sized affiliates simply can’t provide. Large exclusive deals means more sign-ups, which translates into higher returns for PAS publishers partners. For your convenience, all promotional payments (not to mention rakeback payments) are facilitated by PAS.

    Marketing/Tech Service:

We have been an industry leader in affiliate marketing for many years and during that time we have learned how to effectively market a site, which we pass on to PAS publishers through multiple channels. Our Tech and Design is also among the best in the business helping you optimize your business and marketing efforts through cutting-edge technology. Check this blog post for some of the latest features to be added for PAS publishers, which include Click Tracking, Group By Country information and Special Content.

    Affiliate Payments:

If you're an existing online poker affiliate, you know how difficult it can be to deal with affiliate payments. PAS makes affiliate payments a breeze. That's because each month, PAS makes a single, timely payment to your PAS account for all your commissions. No more chasing down payments from dozens of affiliate programs. We are also proud to have a monthly stat checking and auditing process to confirm the accuracy of the stats and ensure that you are paid precisely what you earn.

    Final Thoughts

As you can see, there are many reasons why we believe affiliates should be using PAS not only for rakeback and CPA deals but also for revenue-share. If you are an affiliate who handles a lot of your business yourself, we’d love to help you manage your business more effectively and add additional dollars to your bottom line. If there is any reason you are not using PAS, we would love to hear from you and perhaps we can work together towards a mutually beneficial partnership. Let our scale, experience, contacts and networks go to work for you!
