Setting Up a Domain or Subdomain with PAS
Your sub domain
A sub domain is part of a larger domain that exists in it’s own right. An example of this would be “rakeback.mydomain.com”.
You may wish to use a sub domain for your rakeback site if your domain is currently used by an existing site and you would like to add a rakeback section to it. Select the sub domain option during the site setup process on PAS.
In addition, you will need to manually configure your host settings in order to complete your sub domain setup.
Configuring your subdomain:
To setup a subdomain (e.g. rakeback.mydomain.com) you will need to create a CNAME record.
To do so:
Locate your DNS or Domain settings.
Locate and select the option to create a "CNAME" record.
Input an alias. The alias is what the URL of your sub domain will be (e.g. rakeback.mydomain.com).
Input as the host(may be labeled 'destination','data', or 'points to'): "host.dns-poker.com".
Tip
If you have difficulty with the preceding, you can instead mail the following instructions to your host provider, substituting your domain name:
Please create a CNAME record for my domain "mydomain.com" with the alias "rakeback.mydomain.com" and point it to "host.dns-poker.com".
Full Domain
If you are using a full domain (e.g. www.mydomain.com), select this option during the site creation process.
You’ll also need to configure your nameservers. Nameservers indicate where an user will be taken when he enters your domain into his browser’s address bar. Nameservers effectively host a given domain or subdomain.
Configuring your domain:
Access your Registrar’s (the company from which you purchased the domain: Godaddy, eNom, etc.) control panel to point your domain to our nameservers below:
ns1.dns-poker.com
ns2.dns-poker.com
After completion you may have to wait up to 72 hours for your settings to take full effect.
Tip
Alternatively, you may send the following in an email to your registrar:
Please point my domain (www.mydomain.com) to the following name servers:
ns1.dns-poker.com
ns2.dns-poker.com.
PAS sub domain
If you’d like to use a PAS sub domain (yoursite.pokeraffiliatesolutions.com) just enter your desired sub domain name. There is no additional setup.
